Our Mission

NCPEF’s mission is to create an ecosystem of educational support and economic vitality for graduates of North Chicago Community High School.

Our Promise

Our promise to students is to provide all of the support that they need to achieve success in their first two years of college. We know that these years are critical for our graduates. And, we know that our students face more challenges than your typical first year college student.

Our promise is to relieve our scholars with the stress of planning for the cost of college.

Our scholarship is a two year promise of support.

The Warhawk Lancer Scholarship

Founded in 2019, the Warhawk Lancer Scholarship exists solely to benefit graduates of North Chicago Community High School (NCCHS). The graduates of the NCCHS Class of 2020 were the first to benefit. Six members of this class received scholarships.

We have since awarded 50 Warhawk Lancer Scholarships, and with your assistance, we will continue to grow to meet all of the needs for students who want to start their post-secondary journey at CLC.

The College of Lake County (CLC) is our partner in this work. The Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CLC to provide last dollar scholarships for our scholars. This means that the University agrees to first apply all of the state and federal financial aid that our students qualify for to their bills. Then the Foundation picks up the rest. This special relationship allows the scholarship to support more students, and meet 100% of the need for all of our scholars. We go above and beyond this though to provide cash stipends to each scholar in addition to free tuition, books, and fees.

Each recipient of an NCPEF Warhawk Lancer Scholarship will receive:

Full Tuition, books, and fees for 4 semesters | $7,000
Travel Stipend (Gas or Bus Card) | $600
Laptop Computer | $700
Living Stipend for Two Years | $6,000
